Hunter's 1st Tournament as a Yellow Belt

Hunter competed yesterday, February 21st, in his third tournament. This was his first time competing since being promoted to a yellow belt. Let me just say, I am a proud mom. He did so good! He ended up taking 2nd overall in his division. He won two of his three matches. Here are a couple of pics of the day.

Kara's Bridal Shower

Today was Kara's bridal shower. For those of you who may be wondering who Kara is, she is a friend of mine that in one month will be marrying my brother. As her Maid of Honor, I took on the bridal shower. The event planner in me loved doing it. I was able to do some of the things I miss so much from when I used to do events for Amex. Here are a few pics from the day.

Who needs a whole cake when you can enjoy cupcakes!!! We had our choice of either chocolate or pink frosted cup cakes. It is a great way to have the treat without feeling like there is way too much left over when the day is done.
Here is the bride to be. Her brides maid, Debbie did a wonderful job making the bow bouquet. I think she found her calling!!!!!!

Everyone seemed to have a great time. We played a few games and had a chance to catch up on random things. Just before the day was done, I realized I needed to get in front of the camera for a pic with the bride to be. I find I am usually the one behind the camera so I took a break to get a photo.

And the blog would not be complete without a pic of Kara and her flower girl, Tatum. Tatum is so excited to be in the wedding. I picked up her dress a week ago and she keeps trying on her shoes (just to make sure they fit). I have nicknamed the dress the radioactive dress. The night before I picked it up, David's Bridal called me to let me know the beads have small traces of lead in them. I asked if the concern is if the child
puts the beads in their mouth and she said yes.
Seeing as though Tatum is 9, I think she will be safe.
Jokingly, I called Kara to let her know the dress is
radioactive and if she starts glowing, we know why.
