One Brave Daddy!!!

Scottie decided to shave his head and thought it would be fun to let the kids do it. Not sure if that is brave or stupid... you can be the judge on this one!!!
Also in the Guest happenings... I got the latest Fast Foward magazine in the mail this weekend. It is a publication that showcases track, cross country and any other running event that is affiliated with USATF. Low and behold, I am in one of the pics in the Master's section. Doesn't give my name but still pretty neat to be in the magazine.
Other than shaved heads and pics that made the "almost" big time magazine, there is not much more to report. Take care and as always, thanks for reading our blog.

Kim Miller Bowling Fundraiser

For those of you who are wondering who Kim Miller is, she is the sister-in-law of one of my friends. She is 29 and was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer 30 days ago. Scottie, Hunter and I went to a fundraiser for her and her family today to help raise money to cover her mounting medical expenses. If you would like to learn more about her story you can go to her blog at http://kimfightscancer.blogspot.com/

Scotties DPS Interview

Scottie had his interview today for DPS and it went well. They have moved him on to the next step which is the lie detector test. As long as he tells the truth and nothing but the truth, he is hired!!! :) The first class at the academy is in May so keep your fingers crossed that all goes well and he makes it into the first class. Chao for now!

The Latest and Greatest

Well.... been busy as usual. Here is a pic of Tatum and her Minis dance troupe. She is loving troupe and the girls are doing great!!! Only one month to go before their debut performance!! Hunter is working hard in Jiu Jitsu. He has also been working hard at school. Just had parent teacher conferences and he is on the road to Honor Roll and still has perfect attendance.

Scottie just tested today for DPS. He passed the physical and written tests and interviews on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer that all goes well.

Me... well I am up the the same 'ol thing. I been teaching, working and training. Last week I messed up my back long jumping and walked around like Quasimoto for a couple of days. After a few chiropractor visits I am good as new and back at it.

Until next time.....

Halloween 2008 - Night of Fun!

Yes, it is a witch and a ninja! We had a fun night of trick - or - treating, hanging out with friends and even visiting a local haunted house. The kids liked the haunted house... except for one. Our storm trouper (aka Ian) would have nothing to do with it. Just when he was about to enter with Hunter, he heard some girls screaming from inside and he was done!!!! Even Ginger could not convince him to enter.

What have we been up to?

Well, since we have been quite the busy family lately I thought that a blog would be a great way for people to check in on us once and a while and see what we are up to.

As you can see by the photos, Tatum has made the dance troupe. This means lots of hours at the dance studio, lots of money for mom and dad but all worth all the memories she will have to look back on. Her first show as a "mini" will be Glendale Glitters on December 20th at 8pm. You don't want to miss it!

Hunter has been doing a great job in Jiu Jitsu. He has earned four stripes on his white belt and has now competed in two tournaments. His team won the overall title at the most recent tournament on October 25th.

Scot has jumped on the Jiu Jitsu bandwagon as well. His wrestling background is proving to be helpful as he is doing very well. Now if we can just get him through a night without bruises!!! It is a tough sport and they are not easy on each other. They all seem to like to compair "war wounds" each time they have class.

I am still running track. My season ended well with Nationals in Spokane, Washington. I brought home gold in the 100M, 100M hurdles, 200M and the long jump. Not bad for an old lady!

Will keep you all updated when there is more to share! Take care and glad you came to see us! :)
